Steven R. Smith has been recording his instrumental solo works since 1995. Recording to 4-track, Smith utilizes an array of instruments both conventional and homemade to create cinematic records which evoke both a sense of beauty and violence. In addition to his solo works, Steven was a member of the group Mirza, has contributed to many of the Knit-Seperates releases, and is currently playing with the improvisational group Thuja who released their first record earlier this year.
